Learn to use the camera that’s always with you and go beyond taking a simple snapshot to creating a photograph that’s an artistic expression unique to your vision. Join Michael Koren at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum in Washington DC and tap into your creative side through smartphone photography.
Using our phone cameras, we’ll explore the halls of the world’s best and largest museum of aviation and space artifacts. Highlights of the museum in the Nation’s Capital include the Wright Flyer, Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis and the Apollo 11 splashdown module. The museum is huge, covering more than 161,000 square feet of the National Mall (a little more than 3.5 acres). Inside are about 110 spacecraft and aircraft along with thousands of smaller objects, including a moon rock you can touch. The museum presents great photographic opportunities for architecture, still life, people and other shots that are perfect for phone photography.
We’ll start with the basics of learning to use a smartphone camera and review the settings for optimal image capture to pro tips and techniques of exposure, composition and focus that produce the best results.
The number of photography apps available seems endless and can be very confusing when trying to choose what to purchase. Michael will cover some of the most exciting apps for image capture and processing used by mobile photographers worldwide so you can achieve your artistic vision.
This class is designed for users of iOS and Android mobile devices. The list of apps (Snapseed, Lightroom CC (for mobile) and others) will be included in your confirmation letter and should run no more than $5
