Each year in early spring, thousands of migrating Snow Geese arrive to Middle Creek Wildlife area in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Spending their days foraging on the corn fields, and roosting at night on the lake, these geese refuel before heading out on their last push north.
Join Emily Mitchell in this overnight photography workshop in Pennsylvania. We'll head up to Lancaster County to capture the thousands of Snow Geese on their migratory route in Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.
Beginning with a presentation and orientation of the Snow Geese in the Area and what techniques are used to photograph birds and birds in flight in a variety of settings.
We will then heading out to together and search for the flock and spend our time observing and capturing the geese. Staying through sunset, we'll return to our hotel for dinner and downloading of our images.
The next morning, we will leave to arrive just at dawn to capture the geese roosting on the lake before they flush up to forage on the fields. Following the morning shoot, we'll return to the hotel for check out and an image review before heading home.
