Due to the below freezing weather and wind chill temps, this class is being postponed to next Wednesday, 12/21.
Meadowlark Garden’s Winter Walk of Lights features 500,000 lights and colorful holiday displays and is a special treat to photograph. Join instructor Corey Hilz for a special evening wandering among this vibrant and whimsical wonderland.
Our class begins with Corey discussing the strategies for night photography and how to best capture the displays and colorful lights. You will learn what camera settings to use to capture high quality images, with special attention on White Balance, ISO and Autofocus. Focusing in the dark can a challenge and Corey will share tips and techniques that will improve your focusing accuracy.
As we explore the Walk of Lights we will make creative use of perspective and color combinations to capture dynamic images. You will also have the opportunity to use camera motion to create abstract and impressionistic photographs. Throughout the class, Corey works with each student as they photograph to ensure a strong understanding of capturing lights and night photography principles.
This class is small enough where we can work with each person on an individual level so all skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced.
Participants will need a sturdy tripod, a cable release or remote and a range of lenses from wide to telephoto (18mm-135mm or 200mm).
The fee for this class does not include the $12 admission fee into the Gardens. Participants will need to purchase their ticket online prior to the class at http://nvrpa.ticketfly.com/
