Join Emily Carter Mitchell on an early autumn morning at the Colonial Farm and improve your understanding of composition in Landscape photography.
Piscataway Park is nestled across from Mount Vernon on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. Home to the Colonial Farm, Piscataway Park offers a historical countryside stroll along the Potomac River. The farm is home to heritage breeds of livestock as well as a offers refuge for a wide variety of wildlife.
This class will provide hands-on learning on the concepts of Landscape photography and the tools that will help improve your landscape images. With its historical buildings along the Potomac River, the Colonial Farm offers a variety of unique settings for Landscape photography.
· Concepts of Landscape Photography.
· Equipment used frequently in Landscape photography.
· Getting the right exposure in high contrast scenes.
· Elements of Composition and creative imagery.
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a focal range of 24 – 200mm will offer a variety of captures.

Emily Carter Mitchell is an award winning and published nature and wildlife photographer based in Annapolis, Maryland. Through her work Nature as Art she brings a creative interpretation of the natural world around us bringing a sense of serenity in a world increasingly filled with chaos. There is a sense of stillness and ethereal attributes in her images that has one see beyond what is first obvious.
Emily holds a Master’s Degree in Global Management, with a corporate background in Human Resources and extensive years in the travel and hospitality industry. Her photographic journey began when she was a teenager and she has always enjoyed photography as a way to capture the world around her.
Emily’s passion of photography is shared with others through her nature and wildlife photography classes for Capital Photography Center based in the Metro DC area.
