Explore the Bishop's Garden and Olmsted Woods at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington DC.
Join instructor Lori Lankford for a nature photo walk in the fall gardens and nature trail. This class will focus on capturing fall color, fall texture, using natural light, and creative shooting techniques.
There are 59 acres surrounding the Cathedral, which provides a beautiful sanctuary year-round. The grounds consist of cultivated gardens, including the Bishop’s Garden and the Olmsted Woods, an oak and beech forest.
Lenses from 24-200mm will work well as will a macro lens if available. We will work without tripods for this class.
Students should be familiar with their camera and be able to control the exposure and focus settings

Lori Lankford is a photographer specializing in macro, flower and landscape photography. Her passion for photography began as a way to capture her personal travel adventures. Over the years she dived into the fine details of macro and flower photography. She loves to escape so deeply into the details of a tiny object. Lori spends her free time in local gardens across the country shooting in the natural light and capturing its beauty. Lori’s work has been exhibited in local and national gallery exhibits as well as in printed calendars and catalogs.
