Eclectic Hampden Field Shoot

Explore the many fascinating aspects of this eclectic neighborhood and its wonderful photographic opportunities. 

Once an area where mill and factory workers lived this neighborhood now offers great street photography opportunities as well as interesting architecture and a great skateboard park to capture those actions shots. Join Instructor Lewis Katz and explore a Hampden neighborhood in transition where the past and present collide. 

We'll enjoy crafting unique compositions, we'll look for interesting street photography opportunities and look for the intimate details in urban scenes. 

Recommended gear: DSLR or mirrorless camera with a range from wide-angle to telephoto like 24mm to 200mm. Tripods are optional.

Lewis Katz

Lewis Katz is an experienced photographer and instructor based in Baltimore, MD.  He finds inspiration both in the classroom and out in the field shooting his adopted city of Baltimore. 

He teaches at Johns Hopkins University as well as at Community College of Baltimore County. He is a very active member of the Baltimore Camera Club and has received recognition for his award winning images.  

Lewis teaches various In-The-Field Shooting classes in the Baltimore area for Capital Photography Center.

Class Cancellation Policy

  • A refund or a credit towards another class (less a $20 processing fee) can be given if cancellation notice is given more than 5 business days from the scheduled class.
  • If there is no cancellation notice, or it is given 5 business days or less, no refund or credit will be given.
  • Please check the name and date of the class carefully. Requests to reschedule a class will incur a $20 processing fee provided notice is given more than 5 business days prior to the class. If request to reschedule is given less than business 5 days prior to the class, no refund or credit will be given.
  • If Capital Photography Center cancels or postpones a class due to weather or low enrollment, you can choose a full refund or a credit towards a future class.
