Join us in the wee hours of the morning for this special access opportunity to photograph the moonset and sunrise over the lighted Capitol Columns at the National Arboretum.
We’ll start the class by capturing the full moon over the lighted Capitol Columns. After the moon has set we'll frame the columns with the pink glow in the sky before sunrise as well as the sun rising through them. Lastly, we'll photograph the columns and grounds bathed in the beautiful golden light that follows.
This is a very unique opportunity to photograph the columns before the Arboretum is open to the public.
Recommended Equipment:
Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera with manual exposure controls, a zoom lens in the range of 18 – 200mm (longer and wider if you have it). A sturdy tripod.
We will have a 30-45 minute Zoom session in the week prior to the class to cover camera set-up and moon photography basics. This will be recorded if you're unable to make the session.
Prerequisite: The class starts in the dark so students should be able to work with exposure controls (ISO, Aperture and Shutter speeds) and also be familiar with their camera.
A per person donation to the National Arboretum is included in the price of the class.
