Join Karen Messick and using our iPhones, capture the beauty of the historic Union Station and its surroundings all decked out in colorful holiday decorations.
This is a fabulous venue to capture images of people and architecture in a bustling urban environment. It provides opportunities for images of the iconic columns, chiseled inscriptions and Union Station’s neoclassical facade.
Union Station harkens from 1903 and was designed by Daniel H. Burnham, the principal architect of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. The station is designed in the Beaux-Arts style after the Baths of Caraculla and Diocletian and the triumphal Arch of Rome.
We’ll begin by reviewing the different apps that we’ll be using so you have some familiarity with them before the shooting session. We’ll look at Camera+, Pro HDR X by eye Apps LLC and many more. (Once you are registered for this, you will receive a confirmation letter which will list which apps you’ll need to pre-load before the class. The apps will run approx $12.)
Karen will help you choose the appropriate app for the scene you’re shooting and help with composition and framing as well.
Participants will need to bring a fully charged iPhone. A charger is a good idea too as photos quickly drain the batteries.
Class limit: 10
