
Join instructor Lori Lankford for Creative Close Up Photography in the Gardens. Lori will share creative techniques and tools to create more compelling images. We will use the garden as our studio and explore close-up nature, flower, garden photography.
Lori will cover:
How to compose an image creatively in outdoor settings,
How to navigate natural light,
Tips on incorporating water
Shooting through objects for creativity.
This is a hands-on outdoor class where we will explore in the gardens, learning how to focus on small details to create beautiful creative images. Students will come away with techniques to use in any natural setting.
All camera types and skill levels are welcome. If using an interchangeable lens camera, lenses in the range of 50mm-150mm would work well. A macro lens is ideal but is not required. We will work without tripods for this class.
Our location for this class is the beautiful gardens at Green Spring Gardens.
Class limit: 8
The class fee includes a supply bag (for you to keep) with tools, such as spray water bottle and shoot through materials (lace, metal tubing, and fabric) to add creativity while photographing.
NOTE - Students will be required to follow COVID-19 Safety Practices, conduct a Self-Screening Health Assessment and sign a Waiver of Liability prior to attending a class. These items can be reviewed on the class registration page.

Lori Lankford is a photographer specializing in macro, flower and landscape photography. Her passion for photography began as a way to capture her personal travel adventures. Over the years she dived into the fine details of macro and flower photography. She loves to escape so deeply into the details of a tiny object. Lori spends her free time in local gardens across the country shooting in the natural light and capturing its beauty. Lori’s work has been exhibited in local and national gallery exhibits as well as in printed calendars and catalogs.
