Learn to use the camera that’s always with you and go beyond taking a simple snapshot to creating a photograph that’s an artistic expression unique to your vision. Join Michael Koren outdoors at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden and the exciting new "Draw the Curtain" covering the outside of the Hirschhorn Museum building.
Using our smartphones we’ll make our own art from art as we photograph the sculptures at the Smithsonian outdoor gardens. We’ll find endless photographic opportunities perfect for smartphone photography in this area including a large fountain, and at the end our fieldshoot we'll photograph the "Draw the Curtain" artwork that wraps around the Hirschhorn Museum.
We’ll start with the basics of learning to use a smartphone camera and review the settings for optimal image capture to pro tips and techniques of exposure, composition and focus that produce the best results.
The number of photography apps available seems endless and can be very confusing when trying to choose what to purchase. Michael will cover two very exciting apps for image processing so you can achieve your artistic vision.
This class is designed for users of iOS and Android mobile devices. The list of apps will be included in your confirmation letter and should run less than $4.
