Ahmed Akari is an internationally published photographer in the Washington, D.C. area. Following a 2015 feature in the UK-based lifestyle publication Off The Rails, Akari transitioned into a career in photography. He has served as an artist-in-residence at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia, since 2022. 

During his residency, Akari uses his studio space to create intimate studio portraits, manage commissioned projects, and archive an ongoing body of documentary work focused on candid public life. His work captures the dynamic interplay between people, culture, and their everyday environments, driven by a commitment to celebrating individuals and visual storytelling.
