Joe enjoyed a 40-year career in corporate performance analysis following his training in experimental psychology. While leading analytics for a major research firm and media companies, photography offered him a creative outlet and a unique way to see the world. He remains an active leader in the Naples (FL) Digital Photography Club, where he has served as Non-Profit Director, Director of PR, Digital Editor, and is on the competition committee.

Upon moving to the DMV, Joe founded a Chevy Chase photography group and served as Executive Director for a well-regarded film and digital photography educational center, where he modernized the curriculum and facilities, and taught.

His personal work explores abstract, long-exposure, and intentional movement. As an educator, Joe champions a "slow photography" approach, encouraging students to pause, appreciate their surroundings, and have fun. Above all, he teaches the importance of shooting with intention rather than relying on post shoot editing.
