Real Estate Photography Part 2

Investing your time and money in becoming a successful Real Estate photographer can be a rewarding journey. Learn what you need to take your skills to a professional level in this Advanced Real Estate Photography class with Tammy Loverdos.
Master the two most important aspects of photographing real estate: creating dynamic compositions and managing difficult light situations.
Participants will come away with a collection of images and the skills required to shoot and deliver a full set of images for a real estate client.
Tammy also teaches proven editing skills and workflow management to create next level photos while considering the speed and volume of the real estate business.
Part One - Photography
1. Revise and strengthen exterior and interior compositions
* Composition theory applied to interiors
* Choosing the best placement of camera in various rooms
* The importance of height
* Managing common problems (distractions, reflections, etc.)
* Photographing front and back exteriors, and exterior features
2. Interior light
* Finding the best ambient exposure (and bracketing)
* Adding off-camera flash for light control and improved final photos
* Identifying light zones and lighting multiple rooms
3. Flash Skills
* Using flash to correct lighting problems
* Flash power and placement
* Avoiding flash problems
Part Two - Editing and Workflow
Before we begin this editing section, students will have captured images of 5-6 rooms that are now ready for editing.
1. Editing exteriors
* Verticals and one-point adjustments in LR and refined in PS
* Light tricks
* Sky replacements
2. Editing interiors
* Lightroom adjustments
* Managing white balance
* Color casts
* ‘Flambient’ editing and layer masks
* High Dynamic Range (HDR) editing
* Using layers to work with light zones and correct problems
* Adding speed to the process
Prerequisites:
Participants should have;
* A firm understanding of the exposure triangle and be able to confidently work their camera in manual mode.
* Working knowledge of external flash unit in manual mode (this can be covered in the CPC External Flash Class offered several times a year.
* Previously attended Tammy’s Getting Started in Real Estate Photography class
* Familiarity with Lightroom Classic or Photoshop
Required Gear:
For Photography Section
* Sturdy tripod with head and QR plate
* Wide angle lens (14-30mm)
* External flash unit and trigger. Recommended triggers are Pocket Wizard or Godox.
For Editing section:
* Laptop computer with Lightroom Classic or Photoshop* installed. Adobe Lightroom Photographer Package – Lightroom Classic and Photoshop ($12 per month, or free 7 day trial)
* Memory Card reader
* Power cord

Tammy has over 20 years of work experience in marketing, communications and design. Her roles ranged from marketing and design for the banks at Fleet Street to communications and design for USAID.
Class Cancellation Policy
- A refund or a credit towards another class (less a $20 processing fee) can be given if cancellation notice is given more than 5 business days from the scheduled class.
- If there is no cancellation notice, or it is given 5 business days or less, no refund or credit will be given.
- Please check the name and date of the class carefully. Requests to reschedule a class will incur a $20 processing fee provided notice is given more than 5 business days prior to the class. If request to reschedule is given less than business 5 days prior to the class, no refund or credit will be given.
- If Capital Photography Center cancels or postpones a class due to weather or low enrollment, you can choose a full refund or a credit towards a future class.
