The Capitol Area at Dawn

The Capitol Area at Dawn

The area around the Capitol provides plenty of iconic photo opportunities. Taking advantage of the early morning light, we’ll capture the Capitol building as the sun lights it from the east.

We'll explore the area and capture it from different locations focusing on composition, framing, architecture techniques and unique perspectives.

Join Marie Joabar and capture Capitol scenes, postcard worthy landscape shots, the beautiful Bartholdi fountain, and more.

Any camera with the Aperture or Manual mode is appropriate. Lenses in the range of 18-200mm are ideal, wider if you have it. A tripod can come in handy for the water fountain and if you want silky looking water, bring a circular polarizer and a neutral density filter.

Please note: It is assumed you have already taken a Photo Basics class and are already familiar with Aperture or Manual exposure modes. We will not be able to introduce you to this material at this class.
